In 2015 I joined the Wiltshire Police Band as a saxophonist. This band plays a wide variety of music from traditional jazz numbers to popular concert band pieces. The band has several engagements throughout the year ranging from Church concerts to bandstand performances in local parks.
In January 2017 I became the Deputy Bandmaster of the Police Band. My role includes rehearsing the band and conducting concerts when the Musical Director is unavailable
In the 7 years I spent in Surrey, I was a regular member of the Woking Symphony Orchestra. I started out on the bass clarinet but gradually moved up to second clarinet. In the year before I left I gained the position of principal clarinet.
During this time I also played with the orchestras of Basingstoke and Farnborough.
I really enjoy playing in musicals. Since leaving Music College I have played clarinet and saxophone in 'Sweeny Todd', 'Oliver', 'Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' and 'Guys and Dolls'.
In the last 3 years I spent in Surrey, I was the clarinettist and backing singer in a small folk/pop band called The Burning Glass. We enjoyed gigs at venues in London and Hampshire as well as several alternative festivals including The Secret Garden Party. We also played at a number of weddings.
