Have you ever wanted to learn an instrument but the cost and time commitment has put you off? A new video based teaching platform is now available through the Woodwind Whizz Music School that includes a mock exam with feedback!
This course will teach you everything you need to know to reach grade 1 standard on the clarinet. In Part 1 you will learn how to assemble the instrument and play the first 3 notes. In Part 2 you will learn several more notes through a variety of fun, progressive tunes. By the end of the course, you will have good knowledge of basic music theory and should feel ready to take the mock exam. If you wish to have feedback at this point then you will be given details about submitting a video of your exam. If you find yourself stuck during the course then you will be eligible for a 10% discount on any Zoom lessons you will need to help you out.
This course contains video lessons, pdf notation documents and backing tracks to help you learn to play the clarinet at your own pace. The content of each lesson is based on the book ‘Clarinet Basics’ by Paul Harris. Paul has kindly given permission for his work to be used in this way. I highly recommend you download the book as it contains extra tunes and information you may find useful.
The idea behind this course came during the first lockdown of 2020 when online learning became more popular. I wanted to create a course that gave good value for money and also freedom to learn at your own pace. I hope you enjoy the lessons and I welcome any feedback you may have.
